A Russellville man remains in the Franklin County Jail Sunday night on a felony charge of Drug Trafficking after officers found methamphetamine, cocaine and marijuana at his residence Thursday night.
Bernard Phinizee, 79 Timberline Drive in Russellville, may face additional charges once the investigation is complete, according to Franklin County Sheriff Shannon Oliver.

Qualifying for the August 26, 2025 Alabama municipal elections concluded Tuesday afternoon, and most local offices will have contested races.
Russellville District One City Councilman David Palmer will be unopposed and will serve a fourth term on the council.
This is Palmer’s first time to run unopposed.

Northwest Shoals Community College (NWSCC) hosted a Federation for Advanced Manufacturing Education (FAME) Signing Day last Thursday (6/12) in the Patriot Center (gym) on the Shoals Campus as 23 students were sponsored by 11 local companies. Six of those students are from Franklin County.
