Williams Lays Solid Foundation for Future

Even though she is from a small school, Brooke Williams feels that Belgreen High School has offered her a solid foundation for future success.

“BHS has offered me more opportunities because it is so small,” said Williams.  “I get to know everyone and have a good relationship with a lot of people.”

While at BHS, Williams has played basketball and volleyball.  She is a member of the Annual Staff and Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA).  She has served as President for both the Beautification Club and Senior Beta Club and treasurer for Student Council.

However, her favorite memory was the senior play entitled “Super Freaks.”

“The play was about people who thought they were superheroes, but no one believed them,” said Williams, who played the spy who followed the so-called superheroes.  “They actually were superheroes.”

This year, Williams was awarded Who’s Who Most Likely to Succeed and Class Favorite and DAR Good Citizenship Award.  She also received several scholarships including both an Academic and Leadership award to the University of North Alabama, “There’s a Way Scholarship” and the Franklin Electric Scholarship.

Although Williams will be attending UNA in the fall, she has not picked a definite major.  However, she is leaning towards majoring in Elementary Education.

Williams, who attends Eastside Church of Christ, lives by a simple motto that has helped her get through everything.

“Always put God first,” Williams said.

Williams’ parents are Wayne and Stacy Williams.  She has a sister named Kayla Williams.  Her grandparents are the late Freddie and Janet Williams and the late Granville and Evelyn Bragwell.

Williams will join her classmates for their graduation ceremony on Friday, May 22 at 7 p.m.
