A temporary hiring in the Franklin County probate judge's office was the lone personnel move in a short business meeting held by the Franklin County Commission Monday morning.
Diane Miller was hired as a temporary employee in probate judge Barry Moore's office to fill a void left by a recent resignation. Miller, a former employee of the office, was hired effective October 28, 2015.
The Franklin County Commission approved a resolution in support of Alabama Farm-City Week, November 20-26. The Franklin County Farm-City Banquet will be held Monday, November 23 at the A.W. Todd Centre.
In other action, the commission:
•Approved invoices for Alabama Transportation Rehabilitation and Improvement Program expenses in the collective amount of $24,331. The county will later be reimbursed for these expenses.
•Approved the lowest responsible bid for a trailer for the Franklin County Highway Department in the amount of $8,500 from Better Built Trailers.
•Tabled the consideration of bids for the purchase of a cold planer and asphalt paver for the Highway Department.
•Approved a resolution in support of Alabama's Bicentennial, which will be celebrated 2017-2019. Local events will be coordinated through the Franklin County Archives.
