RCS Board approves salary schedule for central office employees

The Russellville City Board of Education approved a revised salary schedule for central office employees at its April 14 meeting.

The schedule includes base salaries for the newly created Administrative Assistant A and B positions created by the board. Dr. Tim Guinn and Claudia Askew were hired to fill those positions last month.

The Administrative Assistant A position that Guinn will begin June 1, 2016, includes a base salary of $100,400. That position requires a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership and Supervision or Administration and five or more years of administrative/supervisory experience. If the employee has a AA certificate or an earned doctorate in Administration and/or Supervision, an additional amount will be added to the base salary based on the step Salary Schedule for Certified Teachers.

The Administrative Assistant B post has a base salary of $87,400, awarded on the basis of a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership and Supervision or Administration and five or more years of administrative/supervisory experience. As with the other position, if the employee has a AA certificate or an earned doctorate in Administration and/or Supervision, an additional amount will be added to the base salary based on the step schedule for Certified Teachers.

The board approved a salary schedule for Technology Coordinator based on years of experience in technology at the Central Office level or in related field or positions. With five years' experience, the base is $65,893, $67,040 for six years, $68,185 for seven years, $69,331 for eight years, $69,841for 12 years, $70,351 for 15 years, $71,371 for 21 years, $71,881 for 24 years and $72,391 for 27 or more years.

The Technology Coordinator position requires a Master's degree in Educational Administration and Supervision or Leadership, computer science or related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

The Child Nutrition Program Director will carry a base salary that corresponds with the step of the teachers' salary for experience plus certification level and an additional $2,000 for supervision responsibilities.

Curriculum, Special Education and Federal Programs Coordinator carries a base salary of $77,418, based on the requirement of a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership and Supervision or Administration and five or more years experience of successful teaching. If the employee holds a AA Certificate or an earned doctorate in Administration and/or Supervision, an additional amount will be added based on the teacher's step salary schedule.

The Chief School Finance Officer position is also structured based on experience in Business Administration/Accounting and for a Master's Degree in Business Administration/Accounting or CPA with at least five years of supervisory experience.

With three years of experience in Business Administration/Accounting, the base salary is $78,209, $80,682 for four years, $83,156 for five years, $83,666 for eight year, $84,176 for 12 years, $84,686 for 15 years, $85,196 for 18 years, $85,706 for 21 years, $86,216 for 24 years and $86,726 for 27 years.
