"All for Books" coin drive starts next week at RMS

Annsley Gault (left) and Abby Peters (right) are student library aides at Russellville Middle School and will be helping with the “All for Books” Coin Drive beginning September 26 and the school Book Fair beginning October 3.

Starting next Monday, students at Russellville Middle School will begin a coin drive to raise money for the Scholastic “All for Books” program. This program takes the funds raised by students and community members and enables the school librarian to purchase books for the school library and classrooms. In addition, each dollar raised will be matched by Scholastic and used to purchase books for children affected by the floods in Baton Rouge, LA and other charities across the nation. It’s a win-win program. Businesses and individuals will be able to donate to the cause from now until the end of the RMS Book Fair on October 7.

Anyone interested in making a donation should bring or mail donations to RMS by 2 p.m. on Friday, October 7. The RMS Book Fair will be held in the school media center daily from October 3-7. We will also host a “Family Night” on Tuesday, October 4 from 3:30-5:30 p.m. For more information, please call 256-331-2120.
