Tuscumbia - Working with Gov. Kay Ivey, and the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs (ADECA) director Kenneth Boswell, Sen. Larry Stutts expedited a $250,000 grant to improve the City of Red Bay’s infrastructure at the West Franklin Industrial Park.
Red Bay officials applied for the grant “to provide much needed roadway access, a sanitary sewer connection and storm drainage infrastructure” for the industrial park. The improvement to the industrial park will begin within the next two months and create new job opportunities for area citizens.
“The park’s location, just 18 miles from Interstate 22, makes it a target for continued growth, and I’m proud to help mayor Charlene Fancher and the City of Red Bay in this important undertaking,” Stutts said. “I know this grant will be put to good use.”
Stutts is currently serving in his first term representing Alabama’s District 6, which includes parts of Franklin, Colbert, Lauderdale, Lawrence and Marion counties. Stutts is seeking re-election on November 6, 2018.
