I am Kathryn Cantrell Wilkins and I announce my candidacy for Place 3 of the Red Bay City Council. I am a Red Bay High School graduate and an Honor Graduate of the University of North Alabama with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Business Administration
I am married to Dave Wilkins from Mobile, AL. After moving to SouthAlabama for several years, we retired and moved back to Red Bay in November 2020.
I am the daughter of George Gaston Cantrell and Elizabeth Nelson Cantrell of Vina. My mother taught school in Franklin County for 39 years with the last 20 years as a 5th and 6th grade Social Studies teacherat Red Bay. Dave and I have 2 sons and 5 grandsons.
We attend Red Bay First Baptist Church where I am a member of the choir and participate in the Hands and Feet ministry.
I am a Leadership Red Bay graduate, a former member of the Northwest Alabama Regional Library Board and the City of Red Bay Zoning Board.
Being the daughter of a Social Studies teacher and a decorated World War II Navy veteran has instilled in me the appreciation of living in a small town.
Having previously worked as a Census Field Supervisor during the 2010 Census in Houston, Henry and Dale County and in 2020 as a Trainer, Recruiter and as a Census Field Supervisor in Elmore, Coosa, Autauga,Chilton and Montgomery County, I have experience in dealing with local, county and the federal government and I will bring new and innovative ideas on how to improve our town. I am retired and with my extensive background in accounting and business, I want to be your voice and I will work hard for all the citizens of Red Bay.
