About ten years ago, if you were looking for a painter's tape, there was really only one choice--masking tape. Who would have foreseen that technology and creativity would bring this category to what it is today?
Who hasn't spent time taping areas, only to find that the paint has bled under the edges or the tape has stuck to the surface, resulting in extra work? Many people don't even bother to use tape because of a bad experience in the past.
Blue tape, green tape, "Frog tape." These are just a few of today's technologically advanced products, which are designed for ease of application, easy release, no-bleed-through and clean, sharp lines. These tapes offer up a whole new world of creativity by not only protecting adjacent areas but also allowing the user to create multiple lines and designs so much easier than ever before. Stripe that wall, create an original design on the floor of the kids' room or make a block pattern of contrasting colors in the middle of the living room wall.
Check out the different characteristics of the different tapes and you'll find the perfect product for your project.
Blue painter's tape is typicall used indoors on baseboards, trim, metal and glass. "Scotch blue" features multi-surface adhesion and "edge -lock" for super-sharp lines. It is rated to peel off clean for as long as 14 days.
"Scotch green" tape is designed for adhesion to masonry surfaces such as brick, concrete and grout. It has very high adhesion and can be left in place for up to three days.
"Frog Tape" incorporates "PAINTBLOCK TECHNOLOGY" which uses a super-absorbent polymer which reacts with latex paint and instantly gels to form a micro-barrier that seals the edges of the tape for very sharp paint lines. Check out www.frogtape.com for some awesome project ideas.
