The Russellville City Board of Education honored several student organizations and students at its April 15th meeting.
Among the honorees was the Russellville High School Honor Society, which broke the state record for Power Red Donations during its 2025 blood drive. NHS sponsors are Zach Bruce and Katelyn Little. President is Kimberly Cano Velasquez. Vice President is Bianca Santamaria. Secretary is Lily Vargas Hernandez. Treasurer is Kaytlynn Brady. Project Chairperson is Brittany Velasco Diego. Historian is Obidio Miguel Martin. Leadership Committee consists of Miguel Francisco, Andy Hernandez and Christopher Mojica.
The board recognized two Russellville Middle Students, Ayela Lane and Layla Rush, for being named to the Alabama All-State Chorus for Middle Schools. Rush also was named to the Alabama Bandmasters Association All-State Band.

--approved trip requests for the RHS Rocketry Team May 15-18, 2025, to compete in the National Rocketry Competition in Winchester, Va., and a facility use request for the RHS Auditorium and Band Room on July 19, 2025, by the Franklin County Chamber of Commerce for the Watermelon Pageant and the RHS football field/Fieldhouse and RMS Gym on May 17, 2025, by the Class of 1988 Chucky Mullins Scholarship Committee to host a football camp and special olympics for scholarships.
