PUBLIC NOTICE – FRANKLIN COUNTY COMMISSION SWEARING-IN & ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING
The Franklin County Commission will hold its Swearing-In of District One Commissioner Curtis Baker and Organizational Meeting on Wednesday, November 11, 2026, at 8:30 AM.
CHANGE IN MEETING LOCATION: The Swearing-In and meeting will be held in the large courtroom at the Franklin County Courthouse located at 410 Jackson Avenue North, Russellville, AL, rather than the Commission's usual meeting location.
Under Alabama Code Section 11-3-1(e), the newly organized County Commission must hold its organizational meeting on the Wednesday following the General Election, when members take office.
Although November 11 is Veterans Day and county offices will be closed, the meeting is required to proceed as scheduled, with public access available.
Please note that this will be the ONLY Franklin County Commission meeting held in November.
