  • April 30, 2026: The Russellville First Methodist Church will have a 5th Thursday Food Giveaway on Thursday, April 30th, at 311 N Jackson Ave., Russellville, AL, beginning at 1 pm. Please use the back entrance from Washington Ave. Remain in your car, have your ID ready, and allow our volunteers to serve you. Note: In case of inclement weather, the giveaway will be rescheduled.

  • May 2, 2026: Osborn Hill Cemetery Decoration Day will be on May 2, 2026. The first Saturday of May has been observed as Decoration Day for well over 100 years. All old flowers will need to be removed off the graves. Please make plans for that special day to come to the cemetery. Also, its time again for annual donations.   • May 21, 2026: The Russellville Fire Department will host a free non-certified Community CPR Class on May 21, 2026, from 5-8pm at Russellville Fire Station 1, 1100 South Jackson Ave., Russellville. Please contact Captain Watkins at 256-324-1672 to reserve a spot, as seats are limited.

  • The NACOLG SENIORx medication assistance program supplies free and low-cost medications for anyone in Alabama with a disability or chronic illness, regardless of age, that requires daily medication. Medicare recipients may also be eligible. For more information, contact NACOLG SENIORX today. There is no charge for this service.   • Love Packages Ministry is in need of donations of new and used Bibles (in any condition). They will be sent to ministers and missionaries around the world who will distribute them. Donations can be dropped off in the church office of Red Bay First Baptist Church or Russellville First Baptist Church.

  • The Northwest Regional Library is proud to announce audiobooks are now available through our Books-By-Mail program. This program is completely free to those that are medically homebound, live more than 10 miles from a town with a public library, or require large print or audiobooks only. Must be a resident of Marion, Franklin, or Lamar counties. Contact the Northwest Regional Library at 205-487-2330 or visit the website at northwestregional.net to find out more information about the program. We are accepting donations of new or gently used CD audiobooks. Donations can be dropped off at any member library.
