RCS Board approves personnel moves for new school year

The Russellville City Schools Board of Education approved 27 personnel actions at a short meeting held August 18th.

Personnel moves approved by the board included:

—Retirements, Resignations, Terminations, Leaves of Absence: Jonathan Dill, bus driver, resignation; Caitlin Swinney, RES teacher, leave of absence until Dec. 18, 2026; Cory Trapp, RMS Aide, resignation; Crissy Palmer, Child Nutrition Program worker, termination; Kathryn Hines, WES teacher, resignation.

—Employment: Jenna Forrester, WES teacher; MaKayla Lindsey, RMS teacher for ESL; Tambra Traynom, bus driver; Lanice White, WES teacher; and Renee Cochran, Child Nutrition Program worker.

—Temporary Employment in Position (Part-Time and As Needed): Jackson Etherington, Chris Fretwell, Park & Rec. Department student workers, Kaylee Smith, RES teacher, temporary employment to fill LOAs for two employees, Joshua Stancil, RHS basketball coach volunteer, Dakoata Briles, RHS Soccer volunteer, Carly Channel, Karlee Faust, Kelsey Montgomery, Tiffany Terry, Jenna Forrester and Jenny Wynn, Pre-K teachers Before/Aftercare, Hannah Cummings, Amanda Davis, Dana Massey and Mary Elizabeth Peters, Aides for Pre-K Before/Aftercare.

—Transfer: Lauren Williams, from Pre-K teacher to WES teacher.

Other agenda items approved at the board’s August 18th meeting included:

—approval of field trip for RES students from May 6-9, 2027, to Washington, D.C., request by Haley Fuller, teacher.

—contracts with Scott King and Rick Itter for School Resource Officer positions from August 1, 2026 through July 31, 2027.

—lowest responsible bid for West Elementary School Combi Oven, $40,340 from Singer H&R.

—facility use requests for WES and RHS gymnasiums, on October 6th and 7th for Russellville basketball programs to host the 5th annual Mini Basketball Camp.

—vehicle purchase of a 2026 Ford F150 Supercrew 4x4 Pickup on state contract for the Russellville Parks and Recreation Department in the amount of $45,714.
