Russellville City Council approves hiring two new police officers

The Russellville City Council approved the hiring of two new officers with the Russellville Police Department at a short council meeting on February 16th.

With the recommendation of Captain Jake Tompkins, the council hired Cody Price and Zy Traywick.Price is already a certified officer, Tompkins said.

In other agenda items, the council:

—accepted a letter of resignation from Russellville Street Department employee Kendric Baker.

—approved accounts payable for the month.

The next regular meeting of the Russellville City Council will be March 2, 2026, with work session starting at 6 p.m., and meeting to follow.
