NWSCC announces Andrew Jones as new flag football coach

Northwest Shoals Community College (NWSCC) Patriots Athletics Executive Director Taylor Franks announced today that the college has hired Andrew Jones as the new women’s flag football coach.

“We are excited to welcome Coach Jones to the Patriots,” said Franks. “He comes from a successful flag football program at Auburn High School and comes to us with a plan on how to build our young women into successful student-athletes on and off the field. I look forward to working with them as we continue to build our Patriots flag football program.”

Jones comes to Northwest Shoals with experience as a collegiate athlete and high school coach. He has coached men and women’s track and field and flag football. “I am honored for the opportunity to lead the women’s flag football program at Northwest Shoals," Jones said. "I had the opportunity to meet our team on a video call, and I cannot wait to get to work with them. We have a lot of work to do in a short period of time, but I can tell they are just as hungry as I am to build something special."

The college's women's flag football team still has a few spots available. Interested athletes can contact Taylor Franks at tfranks@nwscc.edu.
