Phil Campbell, Vina race at Wilson’s Warriors Invitational

Two Franklin County cross country teams, Phil Campbell High School and Vina High School, participated in the Warriors Invitational, hosted by Wilson High School in Florence, on Saturday.

Phil Campbell had two student-athletes compete in the 5k races. Sophomore Rayna Scott completed the girls’ 5k run in 28:09.08 to place 25th. In the boys’ 5k, senior Bailey Nix came in 81st with a time of 26:20.09.

Vina had three run in the girls’ 5k race: freshman Lindie Easterling, eighth-grader Kinsley Newton and junior Samantha Elders.

Easterling had Vina’s best finish, placing 21st with a time of 27:19.21. Newton and Elders finished 71st and 75th, respectively, with times of 39:13.77 and 40:45.24.

VHS also had one student-athlete, junior Addison Patterson, compete in the girls’ two mile race. Patterson finished in eighth place with a time of 22:31.34.
