Red Bay’s Reed Hamilton signs with Blue Mountain baseball program

Recent Red Bay High School alumnus Reed Hamilton will have the opportunity to continue his baseball career after signing a letter of intent with Blue Mountain College last week. Hamilton signed with the Toppers at a ceremony at Red Bay High School on Wednesday, July 2.

Hamilton suffered through a tough injury his senior campaign and missed a majority of the Tigers’ games, appearing in 14 of their 31 contests. However, the senior was a key bat for RBHS when he was in the lineup, batting .353 as the designated hitter with 13 RBIs and two home runs; he was named a Franklin Free Press All-Franklin County Honorable Mention for his contributions this past season.

As a junior, Hamilton, who was tapped for the FFP All-County First Team, appeared in all 30 of Red Bay’s games, batting .383 with a team-best .536 on-base percentage, 31 RBIs (second most on the team), 21 runs scored, and three home runs.

Hamilton has been a vital piece in Red Bay’s last two postseason runs, helping the Tigers, ranked No. 8 in this year’s final poll, reach the quarterfinals this season after a semifinal appearance in 2024.

Hamilton is the second Tiger to earn an opportunity to play collegiate baseball with Ty Reynolds choosing to continue his career at Northwest Shoals Community College.

Blue Mountain College, a private Baptist college located in Blue Mountain, Mississippi, competes in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics and is a member of the Southern States Conference.
