Franklin County BOE approves plethora of personnel moves on eve of new school year
On the eve of the start of a new school year, the Franklin County Board of Education met Tuesday, August 4th, with personnel items comprising the majority of the agenda.
The board approved the Occupational Therapy Services bid to Susan Allen, for July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027.
The board also approved a resolution to authorize the Franklin County Commission to submit a joint bid for FY26-27 diesel purchases.
Sandra Guinn was hired as a Part-Time Data Analyst for Franklin County Schools.
Teacher Excellence and Accountability for Mathematics and Science (TEAMS) contracts were approved as follows:
—Advanced Contract 5 Years—August 1, 2026 thru June 15, 2031: Kristen Headlee Davis, Phil Campbell High School, Mathinee Spencer, Tharptown Elementary School, Darrel Baker, Tharptown High School.
—Advanced Contract 3 Years: August 1, 2026 through June 15, 2029: Emily Taylor and Kellie Ballard Henson, Red Bay High School.
—Preliminary Contract 1 Year: August 1, 2026 through June 15, 2027: Melissa Cox, Belgreen High School.
The Franklin County Board of Education will hold its first budget hearing September 14, 2026, at 4 p.m., and a Board Meeting/Budget hearing on September 15, 2026, following the 4 p.m., work session.
