12 Franklin County Republican Executive Committee candidates attend ‘Mix and Mingle’ event
With its recent ‘Mix and Mingle’ event for Franklin County Republican Executive Committee candidates, the Republican Women of Franklin County, Alabama (RWFCA) organization continued its efforts to encourage voters to make informed decisions when casting their ballots in the May 19, 2026 primary election.
The event was held March 10th at the Frog Pond Community Center.
Candidates seeking election to the Franklin County Republican Executive Committee were all invited to the event, where they had the opportunity to meet and speak with county voters in a relaxed setting.
Denel Wardell, RWFCA President, said many voters don’t understand what a county political party executive committee does, so this was an opportunity not only to meet the candidates, but also to learn about the duties of the committee.
The Franklin County Republican Executive Committee acts as the local governing body for the Republican Party in Franklin County. Committee members workto build the party, promote Republican candidates, assist with local elections, and enforce rules established by the state executive committee to support Republican party goals.
The 12 Franklin County Republican Executive Committee candidates who took advantage of this opportunity included:Teresa Thorn Lawler, Erica Cothrum, Joey Norton, Lisa Norton, Bart Moss, Gregory ‘Jason’ Oliver, Hugh Plott, Janice Baldwin, David Baldwin, Hillary Malone Hall, Thomas Randall Miller and Kristy Baker Davis, who is also running for the Alabama Republican Executive Committee, Place One.
“We are very appreciative of those candidates who think enough of not only the Women’s Club, but also the Republican residents of Franklin County to give of their time and show up for this event,” Wardell said.
The RWFCA will host its second Candidate Roundtable on April 14, 2026, with candidates from the local and state level scheduled to attend.
The location of this event will be announced at a later date.
