NACOLG delivers more than $9.2 million in economic impact for Franklin County
The Northwest Alabama Council of Local Governments (NACOLG) is making a measurable difference in Franklin County by securing grant funding, helping seniors save on prescription medications, providing meals to older adults, and delivering services that allow elderly and disabled residents to remain independent in their homes and communities.
The organization's work represents more than $9.2 million in measurable financial impact for Franklin County through grant funding, prescription savings, and cost savings associated with the Elderly & Disabled Waiver and Personal Choices programs.
NACOLG's Impact at a Glance:
$2,601,843 in grant funding — Helping support local infrastructure, community development, economic development and other projects that strengthen Franklin County communities.
$835,106 in SenioRx prescription cost savings — Helping senior citizens reduce the cost of prescription medications and make their health care dollars go further.
43,835 meals served to senior citizens — Providing nutritious meals that support the health, well-being and independence of older adults throughout the county.
81 Elderly & Disabled Waiver clients — Providing eligible residents with services that help them remain in their homes and communities while reducing the need for more costly institutional care.
61 Personal Choices Program clients — Giving individuals greater flexibility and control over the services they receive based on their individual needs.
$5,794,740 in total cost savings through the Elderly & Disabled Waiver and Personal Choices programs — Demonstrating the significant financial value of providing community-based services that help residents remain independent.
Together, the grant funding, SenioRx savings, and cost savings from the Elderly & Disabled Waiver and Personal Choices programs represent $9,231,689 in measurable financial impact for Franklin County.
“These figures demonstrate the value of regional cooperation and the important role NACOLG plays in connecting Franklin County with resources and services that make a real difference,” said Joseph Holt, executive director of NACOLG. “Whether it is securing funding for local projects, helping seniors afford their medications, providing meals or helping individuals with disabilities remain independent, NACOLG is creating meaningful results for residents and strengthening the community.”
NACOLG's impact is made possible through partnerships among local governments, state and federal agencies, community organizations, and elected officials. By coordinating resources and services across Northwest Alabama, NACOLG helps communities address local needs while maximizing the impact of public investments.
