Belgreen junior high, junior varsity volleyball teams win Franklin County Tournament titles
For the second straight season, the Belgreen junior high and junior varsity volleyball teams have won the Franklin County Tournament crown.
The county tournament, hosted at Tharptown High School on Saturday, September 27, saw Belgreen’s junior high team defeat Phil Campbell 2-0 (25-17, 25-14) in the semifinal and defeat Tharptown 2-0 (25-19, 25-16) to win the junior high tournament.
In the junior varsity tournament, Belgreen defeated both Vina and Red Bay 2-0 on the way to the championship round where the Lady Bulldogs faced Phil Campbell. Belgreen secured the Franklin County title with a 2-0 (25-16, 25-15) victory over the Lady Bobcats.
