Phil Campbell, Tharptown cross country runners compete at Kudzu Hills Invitational
Phil Campbell High School and Tharptown High School’s cross country teams competed at the Kudzu Hills Invitational, hosted by Cold Springs High School, on Saturday, September 27.
Phil Campbell had four competitors run at the event. In the girls’ 5k, eighth-grader Avery Wells finished with a time of 24:41.67, and freshman Rayna Scott came in with a time of 26:07.21. PCHS junior Bailey Nix and eighth-grader Uriah Fisher ran in the boys’ 5k. Nix completed the race in 24:31.8, while Fisher finished with a time of 25:49.94.
Tharptown had three runners—two girls and one boy—compete in the Class 1A-4A event. Sophomore Yesenia Ramirez (33:10.25) and senior Rosalinda Jeronimo (34:08.99) finished 45th and 46th, respectively, in the girls’ 5k while senior Daniel Jimenez, with a time of 20:34.69, placed 28th overall in the boys’ 5k race.
